Screech Owl

Anna found this poor little fellow in the yard this morning. We tossed around several thoughts about what could have happened to it, but couldn't agree. Some thought the limb it was sitting on in the tree broke and it fell, some thought it froze to death, and some thought it might have starved. I suppose we'll never know for sure...but it is a shame that such a lovely bird had to die. : ( He was SO pretty and owl-like.

Kinda predatory, though...
